Through Turkey with Wines

Turkey is known as one of the oldest lands where wine was produced in the historty. In Hittite period 4000 years ago, this land was also called Wiyana wanda, meaning – land of wine. Hiitites produced their wines in Cappadocia and carried them to their capital Hattousa through Red River. The historical fact that Cappadocia is one of the oldest wine producing regions of the world makes our wine tastings meaningful.

 

OBJECTIVE OF OUR TASTINGS:

  1. To introduce Turkish wines with different tastes from different regions with a special emphasis on Cappadocia.
  2. To make a cultural tour of Turkey through its wines.
  3. To introduce wines produced only with local Turkish grapes.

 

CONTENT OF OUR TASTINGS :

A multivision show which explains briefly the hisstory of wine in Turkey and in Cappadocia (20minutes).

Tasting of 5 wines + 1 sparkling + local bread and cheeses.

Bonus: Sparkling wine of Cappadocia.

During tastings appropriated glasses authorized by INAO are used.

Wine tastings are conducted by our WSET Advanced program certificatedspecialist.

Participants must be over the age of 18.

Smoking is strictly forbidden in the area of tasting and it is not recommended before the session.

wine tastings take place in the rock carved winery or in panoramic Restaurant of Sira Kapadokya in Uchisar
